Sustainable Farming

Agriculture has the power to nourish people,
but it also plays a significant role in climate
change when managed unsustainably.

We believe farming should regenerate rather than deplete natural resources.

Together with organic smallholder farmers across Indonesia, MIO is building a farming system that restores soil health, protects biodiversity, and supports resilient rural communities while producing premium organic ingredients for the global market.

Organic Soil Nutrition

Healthy soil is the foundation of healthy crops. Instead of synthetic fertilizers, farmers apply organic compost and animal manure to naturally restore soil fertility, improve soil structure, and increase beneficial microbial activity.

Intercropping System

Rather than monoculture, our farmers cultivate coconut trees alongside vanilla, cacao, spices, coffee, pepper, and tropical fruits. This diversified system improves biodiversity, enhances soil health, naturally balances pests, and provides multiple harvests that strengthen farmers’ livelihoods.

Soil & Land Conservation

We minimize soil disturbance, maintain natural ground cover, and avoid land burning to reduce erosion, improve water retention, and preserve the long-term productivity of agricultural land.

Fairtrade & Traceable Supply Chain

Rather than monoculture, our farmers cultivate coconut trees alongside vanilla, cacao, spices, coffee, pepper, and tropical fruits. This diversified system improves biodiversity, enhances soil health, naturally balances pests, and provides multiple harvests that strengthen farmers’ livelihoods.
